copy format from one text box to another in 2007???

I could do this in 2003, help says do it the same way in 2007 -- DOES NOT WORK!

I select the text box with the format I want to copy, click on the format
painter, then click on the text box I want to format ... and ... NOTHING.

So what am I doing worng?

Hi JR

The format painter works fine for me though I do seem to remember someone
reporting problems with particular settings not copying. How is your text
box formatted? For example, I just managed to use format painter to copy
font, font size, shape fill, shape outline, and a glow effect. Oh, and make
sure you have the whole shape selected when you use the format painter, not
just the text or the cursor flashing in the box.

When you click on the text to be formatted are you "painting across it" with
the format painter?
