Copy from Explorer to Excel

Hi All

Maybe a strange question this, hope you can follow it ...

I have a lot [i.e. 100's] of folders in explorer containing items we have
submitted to a third party. Each folder name includes a description and date
submitted, eg

Submission 001 Component xyz [02_02_07]

and the folders themselves contain any number of documents.

I want to create a register [in Excel] showing date submitted of each
package, all the information I need is in the folder name field but I can't
find an easy way of extracting it except line by line - which will take too
long as I have many 100's of them.

Any ideas ??

Thanks

Hi Milly & DL

Thanks to both for your replies. DL's link to application works fine. I
can't get Milly's simpler 'export to excel' to work though as I don't appear
to have this option available. Is it a function of Vista [I have 98 Pro -
apologies for not mentioning this !] ?

D

DL

I've got no such option.
WinXPpro, WinXpHome, Win2kpro, Office2003Pro, havent unpacked my Vista PC
yet

Yep!
