i am copying non-conseutive rows from 1 workbook to paste into another
workbook.
when i paste excel is pasting the enitire range of rows instead of only the
selected rows.
ex: i select rows 2,3,6,8-12,15 & 19 by holding control and clicking the row #
then i press control+c to copy
then i select cell A1 in a differnt workbook
then i press control+v to paste
excel pastes rows 2-10
can anyone explain what i am doing wrong?
i am not pressing shift instead of control when i am selecting rows. it is
clear after i copy that only the desired rows are selected.

I just tried this (xl2002) using the row headers (1,4:6,10) and NOT
releasing the ctrl key >touching copy while cursor still on row 10
marker>select ROW number in another workbook>RIGHT click>paste

Seemed to work.

Hi Don~could you go back over that again. I just tried and couldn't get it
to work. I keep getting "that command cannot be used on multiple selections".

Thanks

Trick is to select the rows using the row indicator>then RELEASE the ctrl
key>then use ctrl c or right click and use copy>then goto destination and
use ctrl+v or right click & paste

Excel is pasting rows 2,3,6,8:12,15,19 into A1:A10 consecutively in the target
workbook.

It won't paste those rows into 2,3,6,8:12,15,19 with blank rows included.
