copy numbers progressively

JERRY

Dates in 2003 Excel copy progressively using click/drag (which I don't like)
and numbers (ie. book 1-book 2--copy /drag = book 3, 4,5 etc. ) DOES NOT
(which I would like). ---
What to do what to do??--
Excel 97 copied words w/ numbers the progressive way -- why not 2003????????

If you do not want dates to copy progressively, put the date in 2 or 3
fields (I think three are required) and then drag using the all three
as a selection.

As for the latter, it worked fine for me. Insert "Book 1" and then
"Book 2", select both, drag or fill.

Are you pressing the Ctrl key as you drag? That could cause the
behaviour that you described.
