copy/paste and formatting

Hi,
I'm trying to copy slides between 2 presentations - both presentations have
the same master/template. However, when I copy a slide, the text I've
created in text boxes etc changes to a different font, font size etc. I
guess it's a default setting , but I don't know how to change it. Any ideas.
