Hi Dave
First, in the source document, look to see if Tracked Changes is still
turned on. If TRK in the status bar is dark, then the document is still
tracking changes. You can double-click the TRK to toggle Track Changes
on and off.
Now, make sure you can see the tracked changes. Tools > Track Changes in
pre-2002 versions. In Word 2002 and 2003, on the Reviewing toolbar,
choose Final with markup. Now you can see the tracked changes in the
source document. If you want to get rid of the tracked changes in the
source document, accept (or reject) all the tracked changes.
The copying rule is this. It's entirely unintuitive, but also entirely
logical. If Track Changes is ON in the source document, then copying
does *not* copy the tracked changes. If Track Changes is OFF in the
source document, then copying *does* copy the tracked changes.
Hope this helps.

I am working with a customer that is copying and pasting paragraphs
from a source document that went through the markup process by multiple
reviewers. When the paragraph is pasted to a target document (also
previously reviewed) and replaces an existing paragraph, the pasted text
has embedded section breaks and spelling errors that appear to have come
from the review process. Does anyone have an idea as to cause or how to
make sure the text is pasted normally?
