COPY PST FILES FROM NETBOOK TO DESKTOP

I have a netbook and a desktop both on Windows XP. I want to copy my outlook
(2007) files from the netbook (which I carry and use only when travelling) to
the desktop outlook 2007.

I use to be able to transfer the PST files from the netbook to the desktop
without problem but this time, I have an error message: "Cannot copy: access
denied".

What I do is copy the outlook files from the netbook into an external HDD,
and then copy from the HDD to the desktop Outlook.

Is this because the files copied are "read only" and if so how to change?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If outlook is still running it locks the .pst file
Try killing the outlook.exe process in Task manager before you copy.

Thanks. I re-checked the task manager, and the outlook.exe is not running.
Any other lead?
