do you think you can get by w/ downloading someone elses
web site, and modifying it to use it as your own if it is
copy righted? is there a way they could track you, even
if your web site is for intranet use only, behind a
firewall?

As for finding you, probably not.

Why not just access it from the internet.??

The site is being built for a company that only will use
it internally on their servers, for use only by their
employees.

No matter how you look at it, copying it would be copyright infringement.

Everything on the Internet is the copyright property of the individual/company that create it,
unless specifically given to the public domain.

No need for further argument. Regardless of how many people agree or
disagree with you, only you will make the decision, and only you will live
with the consequences of that decision. I guess all you really need to do at
this point is decide.

Kelly,
I would contact the author / webmaster of the site and
ask for permission to reproduce the page(s).
