How do I copy the value of a field from one form to another form that is not
part of a subform relationship?

You can access any form, if it is loaded, with

Forms("OtherForm").Form![FieldName] = Me![FieldName]

or

Forms("OtherForm").Form![FieldName] = Ctrl.Value
