Copying 1 Record to a new record

I am struggling trying to automate the copying of an existing record into a
new record via a form. I went to the MVPS site and found this:

But it doesn't seem to work or do the trick.

Step 1
In form design, select the command button, drag it to the
form
Step 2
In categories of "Record Operators", select
the "Duplicate Record" in the action column
