Copying as picture in Excel and pasting into Word

In Office 2003 I used to develop diagrams, flowcharts etc. in Excel, copy the
total range as a picture and then paste the finished diagram into word. Then
I would resize the picture in Word as necessary

I've tried this in Office 2007. The image is truncated to the left and a
huge blank space added to the right.

Any idea's were I might be going wrong?

Hi Phillip,

Excel and Word sort of share the same chart/graphing engine but only part of the new drawing tools set (Excel and Powerpoint have
more than those in Word).

If you look at the pasted item properties in Word does it show the item as being at 100% size?

If you use Home=>Paste=>Paste Special in Word 2007 what format is coming up as the default?

Are the items you're copying from Excel 2003 or Excel 2007 files?

If you create a named range in Excel to the object can you link to it from Word 2007?

Have you updated to Office 2007 Service Pack 1?

Hi

Answers in Order.

Size is 62%. Changing the size merely increases the dimensions of the
faulty image.

Picture Advanced Metafile, Selecting the alternative option Picture Windows
Metafile doesn't help.

Both products are office 2007.

I don't know how to create a link from word to Excel without pasting as a
link.

Yes we have service pack 1.

Many thanks for your interest.

Phil

Hi Bob.

Martin L provided the solution in the thread for

Re: Paste EXCEL 2007 sheet into WORD 2007 - objects move around

It's to do with ensuring that the source spreadsheet is displayed at 100%
before copying as an image.

This wasn't a problem in office 2000, Office XP of Office 2003.

Thanks for your help.
