Copying Contacts

I keep getting this message (The Address list could not
be displayed. The operation cannot be performed because
the connection to server is offline). All of my wires are
plugged in and everything is configured corretly what am
i missing that i need to check. Any help with this would
be greatly appriecated. Thanks
