copying date issues

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel hi, when copying date from one sheet to the other .. the dates are one day ahead & the year is 4 years ahead... have made a screen movie .. how do i publish it / send it to u ??

This is one of the most common questions asked on this groups - it's all
over the archives.

The source of the problem is the workbooks having two different date
systems. Either:

Change the date systems to be the same (check or uncheck the
Preferences/Calculation/1904 date system checkbox).


or

The difference between systems is 1462 days. Put 1462 in a cell. Copy
the cell. Select your dates. Choose Edit/Paste Special, checking the
Values and Add (or Subtract) radio buttons.
