Your comment below, has made its way into my ms access
data base for excel solutions........ needless to say, I
really appreciate your expert advice:
If what you're trying to get is all of A5 to A10 equal to
A1, then you need to make it an absolute reference - the
help screen will explain absolute vs relative references
better than I could... just type in 'absolute reference'
into the answer wizard in help and choose 'About cell and
range references'
