copying large amounts with using highlighting

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I want to copy hundreds of pages from one book/document, but not have to scroll and highlight selection. It would be great if as in printing there was an option to select copy page 1-300. It takes too long to hold that button, scroll and highlight then copy. IS there a shortcut?

Okay, obviously you're smart and I'm not: )

Do you mean command-A keystrokes? How do I know # of keystrokes?

I don't know what you mean by "# of keystrokes" so I will explain again.

While in a Word document, press 'cmd' key and hold it down. Press 'a'
key. It will select everything.

Or ..

While in a Word document, Menu/Edit/Select All.

There is no option to select pages in a Word document because there are no
pages to select. Pages are actually generated when printing takes placed
based on how many sheets of paper are required to do the job.

However, there are far better methods for selecting passages ‹ regardless of
length ‹ than trying to scroll while dragging. One option is to click at the
beginning (or end) of the passage you want to select, scroll (no dragging at
all) to display the opposite end of the passage then hold the Shift key
while you click at that spot. You might want to take a look in Word Help at
the topic of Word Keyboard Shortcuts... Especially the subtopics pertaining
to "Selecting text & graphics" & "Extending a selection".

Learn to use Outline View: That's what it is for.

Outline view displays the document like a Table of Contents. When you
select a heading, Word includes all the headings, text, and graphics beneath
that heading down to the next heading of the same level.

See the Word help topic "Views in Word".

Then read: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/CH010267801033.aspx

Outline View is the most powerful restructuring tool in Word, it is worth
spending the time to get to know it well.

Cheers
