cornering feature

When I use the corner feature in 2003 it seems to put in a spacer.gif which means the borders of my my tables/cells no longer connect.

When I'm just using the feature in a singular table/cell setting it's fine, but I'd like to be able to have a continuous border around multiple cells with a corner feature at the top

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

One idea, if it applies to your situation: Place a table inside a table with
the cornering. The cornered table has one cell only. This is a quick and
easy way to get corners around a complex table.
