Does anyone know of a freeware or shareware utility for repairing or
recovering info from a corrupt Publisher 2003 file?

Mary,

Thanks for the prompt response!

The message I get when I try to open the file is "Publisher cannot open the
file."

I have tried every trick I know (including the techniques suggested in the
link which you supplied in your response) without success.

I know there are some commercial applications available for repairing or
recovering info from a corrupt Publisher file, but I'm not inclined to invest
a couple hundred dollars in something which may or may not work.

The problem first occurred after I inserted a TIFF image. I saved the file
and exited Publisher. When I went back later and tried to open the file, I
got the error message. I'm using Publisher 2003 SP3. My video driver and
printer driver are up-to-date.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Mary,

I work in a corporate environment. We use Symantec Endpoint Protection. I
disabled the Symantec software and tried to open the problem file. Same error
message.

I also applied the registry fix. Same error message.

I have tried opening the file using Publisher 2007 and a beta copy of
Publisher 2010. I had no luck with either of those versions.

I'll email you the file.
