Corrupt spam stops sync

Users at my company have started receiving spam that
appears corrupt. It causes an error during the sync of
the .ost:

Errors in background synchronization...

Once the bad emails are deleted it is fine. But today,
we've gotten some email that we can't delete:

Some items could not be deleted...

Anyone seen this before?

This also prevents synching with our Treos.

Do you have Exchange-aware antivirus software installed & configured on your
server?
