Corrupted Access DB?

Hi Everyone,

I'm getting the following error message when double-
clicking an Access 2000 database:

"Unrecognized database format g:\shared\db1.mdb"

I can't run the compact/repair without getting the same
message. Are we going to have to write this database
off? I know there's folks that specialize in db repair.
Is there any way I can fix it?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Larry: I had a similar problem and created a new database
into which i copied the contents of the old database. I
then deleted the old, renamed the new and all was well
again. I kept getting a "compiler error" using a query
which I knew was supposed to work. I even re-installed
Access to no avail.

Simply, File, New, select Database, accept default "db#"
name, and open the new db. Then File, Get External Data,
and follow the instructions.
