Corrupted Normal. template

When saving a document, it asks "Do you want to save changes to the "Normal"
template? This just began a short time ago. I didn't know how to answer so I
said "yes". Now it asks at every file close command, it doesn't save, hangs.
How do I correct this?

What version of Word are you using?

Article very helpful. Reinstalled Word, removed Works Suite add in, diabled
macros. So far, working ok. Thanks!

I'm glad you found the article helpful. :) As I noted in the article, the
Works Suite Add-in is known to cause this behavior so more than likely that
was it.

-- I am getting the came message. The only way to ckear it to end the
application in Task Manager as any attempt in Word just recycles the
messages. Sometimes I get this even if word was not open nor trying to be
closed. I looked at more info and was directed to the help site but could
find nothing. This also happened about a month ago, but only lastd a few
days.

I am using Word 2003 with XP. Right now I am considering reinstalling work.

-- I have followed Beth Melton's article but I only found found 4 add-ins
from Microsoft from a long time ago which I cleared. No add ins for Works,
the save normal prompt was cleared, there were no global add-ins in start up.
I'll see what happens.

If the "Prompt to save Normal" option was *not* selected then the likely
cause is a virus scanner, such as Norton AV. Even if you do not use it if it
was installed at any time on the computer then follow the steps in the
article for finding OFFICEAV.DLL and unregister it. Note too that the
article provides scenarios for what you will encounter if the Norton is the
cause so you may want to review then and see if they sound familiar. :)

Officeav.dll was not found. Right now I will wait and see what happens
tomorrow.

Thanks for your help.
