Corrupted project file - can it be recovered?

Hi there,

I have a project file that doesn't open. When you try to
open it it gives the following error:
The file "<filename>" cannot be opened.
Check that the file name and path are correct.
Check that the file format is recognized by microsoft
project blah blah blah.

I've run through all of the steps in this document:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?
scid=http://www.microsoft.com/IntlKB/Germany/support/kb/d31
8/d318438.htm

All to no avail. Does anyone have any other ideas on what
I could try to get this file working again?

Sometimes you can open a new blank file.
Set the calculation to manual.
From the insert menu, insert the file.
If this succeeds then copy all the tasks and paste into another file.

If it doesn't then start looking for a backup/older version of the file
