Corrupted setup disk 2003 version

My laptop computer died about a week ago. Finally got new one, am
reinstalling all the software that was on the old one. Office 2003
says it is missing the file "CD561401.CAB" and cannot install without
it. This is the same disk with which I successfully installed it on
the old laptop.

Short of now having to buy a new version of Office, what can I do?

There wasn't, but there will be now -- I'm throwing in the towel and
upgrading. Thanks anyway.

Try uninstalling the trial version of Office 2007 that's on that system.
(I'm assuming there is one)

Is this by chance an OEM version of Office 2003 that came with your original
laptop (May say something about use on new computer only on CD label)? If
so you will need to purchase a new version for your new laptop.

If this is a retail version, you really need to see if Office 07 is
installed on the laptop. If so you need to uninstall that version before
you can successfully install 03.

Let us know about the OEM status to allow us to help others.
