Corruption...........maybe

When I type a single number in any cell for example 6 then move to the next
cell, the number changes to 5. This only applies to single digits and not for
example double figures. Any ideas appreciated

First thing I'd check is the Autocorrection list.

In xl2003 menus:
Tools|Autocorrect options|Autocorrect tab
Look for an entry for 6 and delete it.

(Maybe a little joke by a co-worker. Look in the direction of the laughing.)
