Cost Fields

Appreciate anyone wo can provide assistance to the following:

I am trying to create two colums that will show estimated costs and actual
costs as well as do computations. However, I am having some difficulty here.

I tried putting in cost fields in the Gantt table, however, when I try enter
data it either does not allow me to do so or the data is just there without
any computations whatsoever. Apprciate if anyone could assist me in resolving
this problem.

Cost is based on resources used on the task.
Go to the resource tab and set the costs for the resources, assign the
resources to the tasks, and then the cost field will be calculated for you.
