Cost Type Limitations

We have created a cost field in PS2007 SP1 that is required. However, when
the PM pulls up Project/PRoject Information in Project, the field is
prepopulated with $0.00. This allows them to skip the field. The problem is
that the field shows up blank in Project Center unless the PM enters 0 or
some other number. Can this field be customized to default to $0.00 and have
that show up in Project Center?

Sorry Renee, the only default value that can be set is when you associate a
lookuptable. The cost field by itself cannot have a defautl value.

Is there any way (with coding or otherwise) to make this a required field?
Right now the PMs can skip it (as well as a date field we created) because
$0.00 shows up on Project Information. That would be OK if $0.00 showed up
