Costs or values in durations

I'm trying to have Project show potential cost savings
within a specified duration.
EX: If my duration for a task is 60 days, I want to show a
projected savings value (this is my input, not a
calculation) and have it show in the time line.

Any ideas on how to best make this happen? Currently I
place a text box at the end of the line. If I add a task,
I must remember to move the text box. I want to avoid
this. I want the value to show/move with the task
duration.

Thanks in advance.

Use one of the Custom Cost fields for the Task, e.g. Cost1. Then view
the Gantt chart, then do Menu: Format/Bar Styles ... you will see at
bottom of that dialogue box a tabbed view. Click "text" on left side.
This specifies the text to display left, right, top, bottom, and inside
the Gantt chart bars. Select "Right" and put the field "Cost1". Then
anything you put into Cost1 field will be displayed to right of the the
bar and float when bar position changes.

Hello Dave,
If I understand well, you want to link your text box to a task :
Select your text box, then :
Format / Drawing / Properties / Sise and position....
