Could not install the custom actions. The object could not be fou

I'm running O2K7-TR and just recently started getting this error whenever I
go to work with a message. I get the error whether I'm composing new,
replying or forwarding. I'm trying to figure out where to look to
troubleshoot this. All the searches I've done on custom actions have to
either pertain to message rules or forms. Obviously, something is no longer
where it was but the question is where and what is trying to access it. I'm
thinking that because it's happening on any kind of composition that it is
relating to the default template but i can't make it out. I've tried to
change my message format (default: html) to RTF and plain text to no avail.
Any one else run into this? Thoughts?

Another thing I noticed is right clicking on a message does not work. All
the menu options work fine from the file menu but when I right click, all I
get is a quick flash of the hourglass and then nothing >:-(

I have been fighting this issue for 2 months on 2 difference machines.

Anyone have any ideas?

I worked with MS PSS and it turns out there is something in the active
profile that is messed up. If you create a brand new windows profile, you
don't get the error. I never found the exact issue causing the error and
unfortunately, I don't have the time to try and identify it. I just went to
a clean profile and backed that up as a copy and if I ever should get the
error, I can revert to the known good profile. Hope that helps.

Well, the mystery is solved. Our Citrix servers provided users with
Outlook 2000 and the desktops have Outlook 2003. Opening Outlook 2000
in Citrix on the weekend caused this issue to appear when the users
opened Outlook 2003 on their desktops. I hope this helps others.

There are many issues in Outlook 2k/2k3/2k7 that can be considered
"funky issues." In my experience, all of them including this issue
which I had with 2k7 can be resolved by deleting the frmcache.dat file.
It is a hidden system file stored in your profile.

If you show "hidden and system files" and show "protected operating
system files" and search for frmcache.dat, it will show up.

Hope this helps!

For Vista or Windows Server 2008 users
Kill outlook.exe
delete \Users\[user_name]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FORMS
restart outlook

For XP users,
use path D:\Users\[user_name]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FORMS

This should resolve the problem.

Here is the fixed for Windows XP and it worked just fine on my PC:
Do the Windows search and you'll find this FRMCACHE.DAT unde
C:\documents and settings\yourloginusers\local settings\applicatio
data\microsoft\forms\FRMCACHE.DAT (go ahead and delete tha
frmcache.dat) then restart OUTLOOK, it shoud work fine, now
