COUNT cells with Y and N

Hi All

I have a spreedsheet with a boolean column indicating 'Y', 'N' and sometimes
junk data.
Is there any function I can use to count the number of times 'Y' occures.

Hi

=COUNTIF(A1:A100,"Y")

where A1:A100 is the range of your data
