Count in a filtered sheet

I want to count the number of rows returned following an
advanced filter. I cannot seem to find a way to do this,
it always wants to count ALL the rows. Any tips?

=SUBTOTAL(3,Your_Range)

have a look at the SUBTOTAL function. e.g.
=SUBTOTAL(3,A1:A1000)
