The above represents a table of transactions and with the help of this
newsgroup I was able to count the number of transactions (in this example 7
- where the string length is 10 and the ref is the same, this is equal to 1
transaction and where the string length is not 10 then the transaction is
counted as 1). Now my boss would like a breakdown of transactions by
products. The codes are linked to a products table. Is there a way to
group the codes similiarly to return a count of 7 transactions from the
above. I have tried adding a column to the existing table and inserting
similiar codes for the transactions with the 10 digit string ref but I am not
sure of how and what to group on. Not sure if this would make a difference
but there are some codes linked to the same product. Any assistance /
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
