countif

haven't used this in a while, can't remember the countif formula to
look count a variety of items all ending in a specifc letter or number

IE


CA004G
CA010G
CA111R
CA141R

Want to count only those ending in G, the other 5 could vairy widely.

Try something like this:

=COUNTIF(A:A,"*G")

Does that help?

=COUNTIF(Range,"*G")

will count G, and *G

=COUNTIF(A1:A8,"?????G")

will count

G at the end if it's the 6th character
