counting blank lines

How do I set the page layout to only count the typed lines
on several pages and restart numbering at the beginning of
each page? I print these with a line count of only typed
lines. I have tried several things. In WP you have an
option to count blank lines or not, and I am trying to
switch over to Word. Please Help!!!!!

Hi Mary Ann,

In Word you also have the option to re-start the line numbering from 1 for
each page, and if you do not use the enter key to create empty lines, but
instead format your paragraph styles so that they have space either before
or after them, only the lines that contain text will be counted. The space
before or after the paragraph is NOT counted.
