Counting Unique Values

I have a report with office Name and contract No. Report
looks like this. office 1 contract 1
office 1 contract 2

office 2 contract 1
office 2 contract 2

Need a formula to total the number of offices. Unique
values; therefore, the formula should equal a total of two
offices.

Maybe this will serve your purpose... In design view of the report,
using the Sorting & Grouping dialog, make a group header for the Office
field (if you haven't already got one). In this section place an
unbound textbox, and enter =1 for its Control Source property. Set its
Name to OfficeCounter, its Visible property to No, and its Running Sum
property to Over All. Then, place another unbound textbox in the Report
Footer section, and enter its Control Source as =[OfficeCounter]
