Couple of Questions

J

Joshua

Hey there,

Got a couple of questions, hope some of you guys out there can answer.

Your answers will be much appreciated.

1. Whats the difference between Issues and Risks in the EPM?

2. What is the difference of the version of project? I've seen Target and
Publish. When I save a project the only option is publish, i don't seem to
see target.

Thanking you in advance.

The Project Management Institute defines a risk as "an uncertain event or
condition that, if it occurs, has a positive or negative effect on a project
objective." Use the Risks page to plan for and manage the risks in your
project.

An issue is any type of problem or concern which you might have during the
life of the project, and which you want to communicate to those who have an
interest in the project. Use the Issues page to communicate with project
team members about concerns and problems with the project.

You are probably seeing the Target version in the sample DB that ships with
Project Server 2003. Microsoft created the Target version to show an
example of how to use the Version feature of Project Server. Your Project
Server administrator(s) must create one or more additional Versions in your
company's Project Server instance before you can use this feature for your
projects. Hope this helps.
