(I'm using Word XP on a Windows 2000 platform. Both Word
and Windows are up to date with Service Packs, etc.)
Sometimes Word crashes when I use the ShowAll command to
show/hide nonprinting characters like tabs, paragraph
marks, spaces, etc. When it restarts and recovers, it
sometime "repairs" the document, though I can't tell
exactly what that repair is.
This usually happens when the document contains an image
or text box, but can happen with regular old text.
Any thoughts on why this happens? And how to stop it
(other than not using the ShowAll command)?
Many thanks.
