crashes on exit

Word 2003 slow load - crashes on every exit. Running on XP Home - disabled
then just unistalled Norton Antivirus & Adobe Acrobat 6 prior to office
re-install also relocated all templates except normal.dot - No change - slow
load and crash on every exit. Safe mode works right.

Any more ideas.

Thanks, had tried most of these but not all of them - here's the steps that
paid off!
I renamed registry entries:
I found & renamed old Office 2000 Word Data registry entries (Word 09)
I renamed Office 2003 Word Data registry entries (Word 11)

I moved normal.doc from both Office/Word/Startup & the user Documents &
Settings/application Data/Microsoft/Templates folders

Rebooted the system and it worked!

There should NOT be a normal.dot in Office/Word/Startup. Having 2
normal.dots would really confuse Word and if one of them was corrupt, it
would explain the crashes. Normal.dot should only be in the User Profile.
