Crashes when opening file from disk

I am unable to open files saved to floppy disk. As soon
as I try, the screen goes blue and I get a series of three
error messages:

NProtect (01) +00002BEA Error: OO : 0028 : C1B7348A

Error: OD : 0246 : 016747FB

Error: OD : 1117 : 0167268B

I am running Windows ME and Office 2000 SBE. I also have
Works Suite 2003 installed which updated Word to 2002.
Windows and Office have all updates. I have Norton
Systemworks and have it set to continually monitor the
system. It runs a full system scan regularly.

I have also had trouble with my internet connection block
popping up continually whenever I signon or try to open up
another program. I have to close the box several times
before the application will open. (After reading some of
the posts, I am going to download AdAware to see if it
helps with that problem).

Thanks!!!

Yes. I even checked the Office Update site, last week, to
see if there were any new ones. I had the site scan my
system for new updates. It said that there were no new
updates. My Windows ME is up-to-date, too.

Any other ideas?

Saving directly to a floppy or opening directly from a floppy is one of the
easiest ways to corrupt a Word document. Always save to the HD first, then
copy to the floppy. To open, reverse the process: copy to the HD, then open.
