Crazy Error Messages

Hi FP Experts... I need your help!

I am new to FP, having made all my previous webpages in (okay, don't laugh)
Netscape Composer. But I thought it was time to get serious, as I have a new
business I'm starting, and I need to get a website up as quickly as possible.

I've been working on a few webpages over the past few weeks, and it's now
"Crunch Time," and I'm getting error messages that I can't find complete
answers for online, and that are not permitting me to do any further work on
my website.

The first error message I received was a "Runtime Error," and I seem to
recall it had "Line: 13" then "Line: 14" as part of the message. I received
this message after switching from "Preview" to "Code," and adding code for an
autoresponder. Not completely sure where to put the code, but having a
general idea, I inserted it at the bottom in a table I had created, and
switched back over to "Preview." That's when I got the error message.

Since then, I've tried removing the code, closing the page without saving it
(had already saved it prior to adding the code), but I kept getting the error
after opening the page and clicking on "Code." I decided to go through the
process of "debugging," but got weirder messages the further in I went, like
"step into remote procedure call."

I then began searching for a solution online, found very little at MS's
site, other than how to disable the alerts in IE, which I did, and proceeded
to get new error messages in bigger boxes. Can't remember exactly what it
was, but it was similar to the runtime error messages, only with slightly
modified wording.

I decided to reverse what I had done, and clicked back on the "Disable
Script Debugging" in IE. The error messages returned in a smaller box that
now says "A runtime error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug? Line: 13 Error:
Access is denied." I cannot do any editing or make any changes on my
webpage... at all!

HELP!! Pretty please. :)

Below is the code for the webpage as it stands now. Thanks so much in
advance for your help!

Kathleen

p.s. I tried to include the code, but received another (darn) error message:
"Your post is too long. Please reduce the amount of text. (Limit = 30000,
Current = 31398)." So I will include the code in a reply to this post. (I
think that will work.)

you these questions is because I want you to realize that
you're not reading this by coincidence. I wouldn't be so presumptious as to
say
it is fate, destiny, or karma that's brought you here... but I wouldn't rule
it
out completely. (wink)</p>
<p>You see, your incalculable intuition, your impeccable timing, your
psychic sensibilities have led you here, at this very moment, to take
advantage of an opportunity in which a small group of people will be
participating.</p>

<p>Now before you let out a heavy sigh, roll your eyes, and think to
yourself,
"Here we go again... another 'Get Rich Quick' Peddler... another 'I'll Show
You
the Way to Truckloads of Cash' Guru... another Smooth Talking, Loud-Mouthed,
Promise-Filled Carnival Barker... I assure you, this is unlike any offer
you've
been involved with before. </p>

<p>Okay... I know. You've probably heard that before too. </p>

<p>So how can I convince you? </p>

<p>Well, would you mind if I didn't spend a lot of time pointing out the
pain you
might be experiencing in different areas of your life, and how I might have
the
perfect solution for it? </p>

<p>Would you care if I left out my life history and how my experiences have
shaped who I am and put me in a position to potentially benefit you and the
people on your mailing list? </p>

<p>Would you be offended if I cut right to the chase and shared with you a
unique and unusual offer?</p>

<p align="left">Yeah, right! Without all those details, I'd be thrown out of
Copywriting 101. </p>
<p>But perhaps you'll overlook my failure. Maybe as an
aspiring or established Internet Marketer, you'll see past
my imperfections and examine the bare-bones details. After
all, your time is just as valuable as mine, so why waste it
using hypnotic marketing strategies when all that really
matters is whether or not you have an interest in the
particular niche I'm asking you to focus on for the next few
minutes... whether it be for your own personal use, or to
market it to your mailing lists and help others profit while
you do the same. </p>

<p>So, no big old juicy sales pitch here. Just a few facts, some preliminary
ideas, and you're either in, or you're not. Your choice. Not sure if it's the
best approach on my part, but sometimes you just have to go with your gut
instinct. Sometimes you have to
just throw out the rules, let loose the sails, and shout "Full breeze
ahead!"</p>

hello Kathleen...
tried your code in FP 2003 and am not getting any errors. It sounds like
maybe something in Windows. Maybe try rebooting and starting again.

Sorry I couldn't help,
Luther

Hi Luther,

Thanks for your reply. I restarted my computer after noticing none of my
other webpages could be modified or edited in FrontPage either, and when I
did, I opened the page that belongs to the code I sent you, and once again, I
received another "Runtime Error Line: 13, etc." But this time, I clicked
"No" to debugging, and it appears that, at least for right now, I can make
changes to the page.

If I have any more problems, I'll be back! But I do appreciate your time and
effort.

Thanks again!

Kathleen

It appears I "wrote" too soon. I cannot edit my webpage AT ALL in FrontPage!
Almost all options are greyed out, and nothing can be done except for copying
and pasting!

This is soooo frustrating.

Any ideas?

Anyone??

Thanks in advance!

Kathleen

Have you opened the web you want to work on? (if not, that would account
for the options being greyed-out, but I don't know about the runtime
errors).

Kathleen... you might check for service pack updates for FrontPage...
you didn't mention which version or service pack version.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your input. I did manage to get everything working, as in, I can
edit the pages, but I do still keep getting Runtime Error messages on the one
page. I decided to basically start all over on that one, thereby eliminating
the need to go in and decipher the code: a weak point of mine. I'll create it
a little differently, without basing the page on one that already exists.

I was trying to create a form for people to fill out, and used software to
create it, then eliminated part of the code after finding out that the
autoresponder I use can generate a form. Perhaps I left some of the other
code in there, and things got all confusing, causing the Runtime Error
messages. Not sure, but starting over can't hurt. :)

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Luther,

I regularly update my software, so not sure if that's the problem. The
version I'm using is FrontPage 2003 (11.6552.8036) SP2.

Please read my response to Andrew. I think the remnants of an autoresponder
code may have been the problem. Not certain, but it's all I can think of at
this time. So I'm starting over. Will come back here if it doesn't work. :)

Thanks for your help!

Kathleen
