I've got Word 2000 loaded on a desktop (Win2000) and a
laptop (Win Me), and this problem has cropped up on both.
Whenever I apply any formatting change (font, bullets,
numbering, etc.) to any highlighted piece of text, the
change is applied to the entire document. I can usually
get rid of the unwanted changes by hitting control-Z, but
each time I do this, an extra blank line is added to any
header or footer. Eventually this crowds out the text on
the page itself.
I've tried going back to the original Normal.dot template
and I've tried using the program CD to "fix" the
installation, with no luck.
I'm inclined to suspect the template, since the only thing
my two PC's have in common is sharing Word documents.
Any ideas? It's really cutting into my productivity.
