CRC Error, Outlook >2 GB

I am trying to back up my Outlook but it says Cyclic Redundancy Error when I
try to copy and paste the.pst file. I have run a check disk and it was ok.
The files size is 2.2GB so I went in to maually delete emails to get it below
the 2 GB threshold but when I hit delete it comes up with another CRC error.
I also ran the scanpst.exe file and when it gets to 3/4 of the way through it
comes up with a CRC error. Any advice? Running Windows XP, Outlook 2003
Thanks!!!

In addition, run chkdsk utility with the /f and /r switch (note that this
will take a very long time when you have large partition).
Also check the website of the vendor of your hard disk to see if they have a
surface scanning tool which you can use. Often they also allow you to fix
bad sectors.
