One way I have used is to cur a circle in half using the Fragment
tool. Place a circle, draw a line that bisects the circle (I usually
extend a bit on both sides), use Fragment. Now you have two half
circles. Fill one, then use Join to keep them together.
There may be better ways, but this method is flexible and powerful.
