create a meeting where you are not an attendee

Does anyone know how to create a meeting request without making yourself an
attendee? I would prefer that the meeting did not appear in my calendar

If you open someone else's calendar for which you have sufficient
permissions ( perhaps delegate, owner, ?) you can create a meeting with them
as the organizer and not include your self as required or invited. I tried
this with another calendar that I had full rights to and it worked, but I
didn't investigate the minimum level of permissions necessary.
