Create Backup Copies of the Workplan

A

Andy Wiltz

Is there an easier way to create individual copies of a workplan besides
opening the plan and doing a Save As File? We are backing up about 50
workplans that are on the server and it's time consuming opening each
workplan and doing a Save As for each.

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
micrsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is closing down.
To answer your question, yes, there is a MUCH simpler way. Your DBA's
should make sure that the SQL Server database is backed up on a nightly
basis. Doing so will back up the Enterprise Global file, the Enterprise
Resource Pool, and all enterprise projects in the database. If you have to
restore a project from a backup, there are several ways to do this, neither
of which are very hard. Hope this helps.

Oops! Please disregard the first part of my previous answer, the part about
the newsgroup closing down. I wasn't paying close attention to which
newsgroup your question is in. Sorry for the confusion! :)
