Create button on Quick Launch Bar

I have just upgraded to Office 2003 which sadly does away with the Office
Toolbar. I have adapted the Quick Launch (QL) bar to suit my needs, but one
of the buttons that was most useful to me was the "New Mail Message" button
that enabled me to create a new message in Outlook without going into
Outlook.
Any suggestions on how to recreate such a button to insert in my QL bar?

Perfect - thanks Bob, exactly the answer I needed.

Perhaps this bit from one of Milly's previous posts will sort it for you
Translation
Create an e-mail message /c ipm.note

means

navigate to C:\Program Files,Microsoft Office\OFFICE11
create a shortcut to Outlook.exe on the desktop
edit the properties of the Shortcuts Target to include
/c ipm.note
after the
"C:\Program Files,Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Outlook.exe"

so it looks like this.

"C:\Program Files,Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Outlook.exe" /c ipm.note

This will open a new message when clicked. You may place this shortcut
in the Quick Launch area or other Toolbar you wish to create from the
Taskbar area.

Now do the same with the others by copying the first and changing the
portion after the "/c"

Change Icon and lable to suit taste.

Thanks Milly,
I think either you misunderstood me or I am misunderstanding you. I do not
want to create an Outlook button in the QL, but just the little envelope
button (top lefthand button of Outlook menu). It was available as a standard
button on the previous Office Toolbar, but even when I look at a previous
version of Office, I cannot find the route to the shortcut.
