Create dates in Properties

I have Powerpoint 97. I have checked out the General and
Statistics tabs in the file Properties, looking for the
file created and file modified dates. The file created
dates are different (by about 8 months)in the two tabs.
However both the modified and accessed dates match for the
two tabs. Can someone tell me why the created dates would
be different in the General vs Statistics tab?

If the file were copied and then saved with the current
name, could that be a source of the discrepancy?

Hi Laura,

Just taking a guess here, but if the info on the general
tab is kept track of by the operating system and the info
on the statistics tab is kept track of by PowerPoint, then
it might account for the discrepancy.

Did you try your theory about copying the file?

Hi and thanks. I had tried to copy the file to a
diskette, but saved it with the original filename. The
discrepancy didn't show up. However, this morning I
repeated the action, but saving with a different
filename. Lo and behold... !
