Avoid distribution lists - have a look at all the MVP comments on how flaky
they are.
The alternative is to use Categories and email to a whole category at a
time. Use the group by function and define your own new views to manage
your Contacts.
If you Group by a Category, you can then drag that whole group to the Outbox
and send to them. You can also email merge if you select Tools, Mailmerge
(you can't merge to Dist Lists.) You can also mailmerge to your contacts.
