Create Excel03 SS Showing Principal + Income - Payments

I am trying to create a ss in Excel 2003 showing an IRA account that is
earning 5%/pa from which I would withdraw 3% of the combined principal and
income a year. I would like to show year by year what the income will be,
annual withdrawals, and remaining balance at the end of each year.

Thanks in Advance

Hi

Simply set up a table with Year, Balance, Interest Earned, Money Withdrawn,
and Balance at end of year as your columns.

Then your first row (let's say row A3:E3) is
StartingYear, Initial Balance, =$B3*interest, =-($B3+$C3)*withdrawal,
=sum(B3:D3)

The next row is A3+1, E3, and then the above values dragged down.

The remaining rows are just the above rows dragged down.

Where I said interest, and withdrawal, you'll obviously have either named
cell with 5% and 3% in them, or a reference to such cells. You could "hard
code" the 5% and 3% in, but that's just bad practice! Much better to have
them as variables.

Hope this helps

Thank you very much, Glenton. That was the solution I was looking for.
