Create new task in project web access 2003

Hi there, can anyone help me find where a user would go to create a new task
for a job using Project Web Access (PS2003). I see using help that it should
be in the side pane on the tasks page as "Create New Task", but even as the
administrator I can't find it on my own PWA. I checked permissions and I have
permission to create everything.

Anyone know what I'm missing?
Thanks!

If you don't see the link in the sidepane, this means that someone (you or
another Project Server administrator) has disabled this permission. It
might be disabled at the highest level. Log into PWA and then click Admin -
Server Configuration. In the Permissions grid in the middle of the page,
scroll to the Tasks section. Is the "Create New Task or Assignment"
permssion set to Allow? If not, select the Allow option.

If that permission was already set to Allow, then the problem may be caused
if you are a member of multiple security Groups, and the "New Project Task"
permission is set to Deny in one of the Groups. If you are the Project
Sever administrator, you only need to be in the Administrators group. If
you are in other Groups as well, remove your account from all Groups except
for the Administrators group. Does this solve the problem? If not, open
the Administrators group for editing, and make sure the "New Project Task"
permission is set to allow in the Global Permissions grid.

Also, you didn't go into each user account and individually set Categories
and Global Permissions, did you? Let us know if any of this helps.

Thanks Dale. The options using "Server Configuration" worked. This had been
set up by the consultant before my time and without an administrator on
staff. I hadn't had any need to use that before and didn't think to look
there.

And I double-checked my groupings and had been assigned to multiple groups.
I cleared out all but the Administrator group per your recommendation.

Boy I don't think user settings have been done individually. I hope not.

Appreciate your help!
