Create new timesheet takes a long time

Using Project Server 2007 + SP2 + April 2009 CU.
We've been using timesheets for about 1½ years now and everything has been
working just fine, but lately we've experienced quite slow performance when
creating new timesheets in My Timesheets page (about 25 seconds). I realize
it might have something to do with the 15 000 timesheets stored in the
Reporting database, but deleting the old timesheets will mess up our
Reporting Services reports. Has anyone else experienced this issue and can we
do anything to improve the performance without deleting any timesheets?

If updating your statistics has not been in your regular maintiance plans you
might try running "sp_updatestats" on your databases. You also might want to
rebuild your indexs in the project server databases.

You should also think about archiving completed projects and getting rid of
old timesheets. 1 1/2 years of old timesheet and project data will slow down
almost any Project Server.

Hope this helps.
