Create rule to delete items in sync folder?

I want to create a rule that will automatically delete messages that are in
the sync folder. O2k3.

What sync folder? The "Sync Issues" folder? Might be better to figure out
why you're getting errors in there in the first place.

Yes the sync issues folder. I agree it would be wise to figure out why these
sycn issues occur; most of them deal with connection problems with the
server. I am told that the connection issue will persist for some time, In
the mean time, the number of messages keeps growing. I don't find it that
difficult to shift all and manually delte them, or set up an auto archive
setting to delte them daily, however, I have people asking for a rule to do
it automatically.

What is the "known issue", if I might ask?

I have never tried this - play with your rules settings.

The rule I created only works when I chose the "Run rules now option." I
can't get the rule to run automatically on messages that show up in the sync
issues folder. If I forward the message to myself, the rule works fine. Sync
issues show up as messages, but do they "arive" like normal messages? I used
the rule option to "Apply this rule after the message arrives."

Some of the issues:
Could not connect to public folder server.
The Microsoft Exchange Server computer is not available. Either there are
network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server computer is down for
maintenance.
Not downloading Offline address book files (stored on public folder server)
Microsoft Exchange offline address book

1. Is the Exchange server up and running - can you ping it by name?
2. If you disable cached mode, do you have any connectivity problems?
